reminds me of the Disc World dwarfs. All beardy, armoured and fierce, even the ladies. It makes dating totally awkward, because they have to find out what the other dwarf is first. In one of the novels there's this huge scandal when a lady dwarf decides she has a right to wear make up, high heels and skirts as much as any other female. Imagine the result ^^ (of the getup, not the scandal. Although the look may be a scandal of its own).
