Last month I participated in Camp Nanowrimo, which was a really fun experience, and one I'll probably do again. Right now I'm 41,000 words into my novel, and the plot is finally picking up. Thank God for first drafts. XD
I'd forgotten how much I love writing, how much it is part of who I am. I also forgot how hard it is. Right now I'm focusing on getting all my ideas out in word form, letting the narrative take twists and turns at will, then I as the all powerful Author will come in later and straighten out the right mess it's made of itself.
As far as art goes, I'm kind of scatterbrained. I've been doing a lot more fanart, which you can find on my tumblr. I tend not to post sketches on DA anymore, unless they're in sketch dumps. And those are a pain in the butt to make, so... sorry guys. But you get the good stuff!
I'm also planning a series of illustrations/short essays on women of the Bible. Because people think the Bible is sexist, for some reason? Just kidding, I know why they think it's sexist, but they're wrong. Some people in the Bible are sexist, though.
And then I'm considering doing some more Artemis Fowl art, but in a more formal TV pitch way. I love that boy.
Both of these projects require a lot of planning and research, which quite frankly terrifies me but boy do I like taking on more than I can handle.
In my personal life, things are going well, but crazy.
I made a lot of personal decisions that have made life a lot smoother, including giving up on the guy I've liked for almost two years. My spiritual life has also gotten a lot better. I just finished reading Mere Christianity by CS Lewis, which is a must read if you're at all interested in Christianity and/or the logic behind it. It's a very conversational, easy to read book.
Life is hectic because it seems like there's not enough hours in the day... or maybe I just do everything really slow.
Thanks to all for your support and patience. God bless!

I'm officially leaving DA
I'm not leaving for a negative reason, I have only positive, nostalgic memories for this site. But I've drifted, and as I'm making a career change and do not seek to be a career artist anymore, I'll be producing less art. I am not deactivating the account, though. I don't want to lose any of the art here: it's a part of my history, a history I'm not very good at remembering. If you're interested in keeping up with me, I'm most active on tumblr (@iesnoth), and to a lesser extent on instagram (@iesnothsart). If you'd like to commission me, please leave an inquiry through this form. If you are curious about prices, they are here. Thank you for all your support over the years. This site and the people on it have done so much to shape my art style and interests, and were such a comfort during my lonely teen years. (At time of recording this, I've been on DA for 15 years. That's half my life!) I hope this site continues to be a safe place of growth and friendship for young artists.
My art tablet is funded! :)
EDITED (as in, rewritten) My art tablet broke, but due to amazing people from all over the internet, the new one has been funded! If you'd still like to support me, my commissions will be open as soon as I get the new tablet, though I do have a couple people already in the queue.
I don't know what to do next.
Having finished my comic, which I’ve been working on for about 6 years on and off, I’m not sure what to work on next. It’s not for a lack of ideas, but I’m not sure what to focus on. So here’s the down low, if you’d like to give some advice. Finish my Beauty and the Beast book. I’ve been writing a novel for a long time about an overweight Beauty character dealing with bigotry who finds solace with the Beast. However, I’m having a really hard time solidifying the Beast character, which is the make or break part of a BatB adaptation, imo. Also, the way I’m writing them now, they more naturally become friends, not lovers. A platonic BatB would be awesome, but it’s not what fans of the historically romantic story come for, and not what I set out to write. Do another short comic around a short story I wrote in college. It’s about a tree who doesn’t want to be a tree, and becomes involved with a witch. The tree is the antagonist. This one would be more experimental, as the tree is just--
Fissure is finally finished! (link inside)
My webcomic is finally finished!!!! I’ve entered a short comic contest on Webtoons in order to finally finish my Little Mermaid in space adaptation which has, to me, become so much more. You can read it here. If you’d like to help me win the contest (which is partially based on popularity), please make a free account and follow the comic and leave a like if you can. If you need more convincing, here’s my teaser: Sterling, a retired astronaut, is struggling to find his way in life when a woman who looks like his dead daughter turns up on his doorstep. Who is this mysterious stranger? Is she the key to salvation he wasn't looking for? Or is none of this a coincidence at all... I’ve been working on this comic for years, as some of you know. It’s a lot like giving birth, finally having it out in the world. Again, please go read it if you’re interested in mermaids, or sci-fi, or comics. After all, what is art without an audience? If you have any questions about the work, I’d love to answer

Cool, looking forward to your Arty drawing. Best of luck with the novel, again from your saying you seem to be doing really well. I hope to write a novel some time in the future myself, but it's procrastination atm but I have the main characters personalities set in moldable clay. There is never enough hours in a day, so it can't be helped! Only you can truly tell though! Best of luck with everything!
